  • 1863. This fairy story originally appeared as “Tell us a Story,” in the Christmas number of the Illustrated London News (Dec. 19, 1863), xliii, 626-631, 634-636, with two woodcut illustrations showing Tricksey Wee, by C. Robinson (p. 633).
  • 1864. It was then reprinted in (iii., 38-83) “Adela Cathcart” (1864), being omitted from the 1882 edition.
  • 1867. It appeared (pp. 100-140) in “Dealings with Fairies ” (1867), and in (viii., 121-157) “ Works of fancy and imagination” (1871, 1876, 1884). It has been reissued—see under “ Dealings with fairies in 1890, 1891, 1893, 1904, 1905, 1906, 1913, 1920, 1924.
