This volume, containing 38 poems, arranged in the same order as the 42 “Scots songs and ballads” which round off (ii., 365-424) the “Poetical works,” published in the same year in London. Note that the latter uses the word “Scots” while the Aberdeen publisher very characteristically uses the ugly word “Scotch.”
