The Carasoyn.
- 1866. The first six sections appeared as The Fairy fleet: an English Marchen. Argosy (April, 1866), i., 417-432. Published as a 35 cent booklet by McLoughlin, New York, n .d . This is the first half of “ The Carasoyn.”
- 1871. The complete fairy story appeared in (ix., 125-228) “Works of fancy and imagination ” (1871, 1876, 1884).
- 1893. It was reissued in various forms, for which see under “ Dealings with fairies,” in 1893,1904, 1905, 1906, 1920, 1924.
- 1910. “Colin in fairyland; a fairy play founded on George Macdonald’s (sic) story ‘The Carasoyn’” : written by G. J. Hamlen, with music by Albert Cazabon : produced by Kenelm Foss. Glasgow: printed and published by Bone and Hulley: 8vo, pp. (ix., adv.) + 10-97 + (15 adv.). This was a Christmas play, produced by the Scottish Repertory Theatre Company at the Royalty Theatre Glasgow, Dec., 1910. There were thirty-six characters and fifty-eight players in the performance. Portraits of 27 of the players, including Mr. Campbell Gullan, are given, with two illustrations of scenes. The play was done in two parts and nine scenes.
