Contains twelve sermons:

  • (1) the creation of Christ;
  • (2) the knowing of the Son;
  • (3) the mirror of the Lord;
  • (4) the truth;
  • (5) freedom;
  • (6) kingship;
  • (7) justice;
  • (8) light;
  • (9) the displeasure of Jesus;
  • (10) righteousness;
  • (11) the final unmasking;
  • (12) the inheritance.

All the texts, thirteen in number, but one, are from the New Testament—seven from John, and one each from Matthew, Luke, Corinthians, Philippians, and Colossians; with one from the Psalms (Ixii. 12). Passages from “Unspoken Sermons” have been published in ” God’s words to his children ” (1887) and ” Light to live by ” (1909).
