Contains twelve sermons:
- (1) the creation of Christ;
- (2) the knowing of the Son;
- (3) the mirror of the Lord;
- (4) the truth;
- (5) freedom;
- (6) kingship;
- (7) justice;
- (8) light;
- (9) the displeasure of Jesus;
- (10) righteousness;
- (11) the final unmasking;
- (12) the inheritance.
All the texts, thirteen in number, but one, are from the New Testament—seven from John, and one each from Matthew, Luke, Corinthians, Philippians, and Colossians; with one from the Psalms (Ixii. 12). Passages from “Unspoken Sermons” have been published in ” God’s words to his children ” (1887) and ” Light to live by ” (1909).
